Medics in Kisumu have moved to address a suspected outbreak of cholera and dysentery that has left one person dead.
County Health director Dr Dickens Onyango held a meeting with various stakeholders on how to handle the situation. He said four patients, who are admitted at Gita Subcounty Hospital ,are in stable condition.
Twenty four others admitted to the facility on Sunday have been discharged. Kisumu Health department and Unicef officers visited Ongadi village, where residents are said to have drunk contaminated water from a borehole. Onyango (pictured) said samples of the water had been taken for analysis. Residents of affected villages were issued with water treatment kits.
